Konnect Fastening Systems’ (KFS) journey within the structural steel market started roughly 10 years ago and has grown exponentially. As part of that growth, the offering has expanded to include a huge range consisting of class 8.8 structural fasteners , threaded rod and associated products. Konnect Fastening Systems is the exclusive distributer for Greenkote Tension Control Bolts (https://www.tcbolts.com/en/) which means that in New Zealand we hold the largest range of class 10.9 structural fasteners.

The branch network consists of 16 branches from Whangarei to Invercargill,  which allows national coverage with a single account granting access to the full range of structural fasteners that a steel fabricator could need. Local expertise is backed by the national network as well as the buying support of 40 branches in Australia.

Konnect Fastening Systems has grown their presence and support in the industry with organisations such as HERA (https://hera.org.nz/)  and SCNZ. (https://scnz.org/) Konnect Fastening Systems also supports the universities with product knowledge and samples for testing. The team was proud to attend the SCNZ Gala dinner in November and to be the only fastener specific company to be a sponsor. This was a night to recognise excellence in steel, it was great to see projects that we have supplied being awarded.

 

As part of our quality journey, February marks the third year of Konnect Fastening Systems being independently audited to satisfy the requirements of the SCNZ Bolt Importer Charter. (https://scnz.org/compliance/scnz-bolt-importer-charter/)

The Bolt Importer Charter, launched in 2020, plays a crucial role in ensuring quality assurance within the steel construction industry. The program is part of Steel Construction New Zealand’s quality assurance program and compliments the Steel Fabrication Certification program launched in 2014 and the Structural Steel Distributer Charter launched in 2019.

Konnect Fastening Systems accreditation to the Bolt Importers Charter reflects its dedication to best practices and adherence to high procurement standards. Under the charter, bolt importers are required to operate a robust Quality Management System (QMS), independently audited to verify compliance with the scheme's standards. 

The Bolt Importers Charter ensures that structural fasteners and anchor bolts supplied to the local steel construction sector adhere to high procurement standards. All Konnect Fastening System products are sourced direct from the manufacture rather than via trading houses.

As part of continuous improvement projects within Konnect Fastening Systems, the ERP system provides clear and visible tracing from the factory floor to delivery to site. All products are independently tested at an ILAC accredited laboratory – who send their staff to select the samples for testing from our manufactured batches.
